KALIDA - Remlinger Manufacturing Co., Kalida, which makes attachments for farm tillage equipment, will be adding 10 to 15 jobs in the next two to three months.
The jobs will be mainly welding and some assembly, company President John Remlinger said. The company, which employs 66, could grow to 100 employees within a couple of years, Remlinger said.
"We're busting at the seams now with the people we have," Remlinger said.
Remlinger also is adding 44,000 square feet to its plant on U.S. 224, bringing it up to 150,000 square feet.
John Remlinger credits the growth to a new contract to supply rollers for the tillage division of Case New Holland.
Remlinger Manufacturing also makes attachments for equipment made by John Deere, Case IH, AGCO and other companies.
"Anything that has to do with tillage," John Remlinger said. "We make harrow attachments that go on the back of their equipment, and that's our main business."
Remlinger sells more parts in Illinois than anywhere else. Ohio and Indiana also are strong regions for the company, John Remlinger said.
But it is branching out to the south, and even exports overseas. It has customers in South Africa and some central Asian countries near Russia, like Uzbekistan, John Remlinger said.
Remlinger also builds agricultural equipment for an Australian company and then ships it to the company's dealers in the United States.
